Post-Race Analysis:
April 12, 2003 - Kingston, Georgia: Shamrock Isle catured the 38th
running of the $50,000 Grade III Atlanta Cup defeating former claimer
Snowball Flannagan by five lengths. Anofferucantrefuse, who lead
for the first two miles of the race before Shamrock Isle took command
around the final turn, finished third, while Najjm was fourth and
last. Quel Senor (Fr) was a late scratch.

This year's leading steeplechase trainer
Jack Fisher saddled the winner of the Atlanta Cup for the
second year in a row.

The Atlanta Cup was Shamrock Isle's first graded stakes victory.
Trained by this year's leading steeplechase trainer Jack Fisher,
Mrs. F. Eugene Dixon's Shamrock Isle was making his first start
of the year. The 8-year-old son of Allen's Prospect (by Mr. Prospector)
finished fourth in this race last year, and scored his only victory
from six starts in 2002 in an allowance race at Saratoga last year.
The Atlanta Cup was Shamrock Isle's first stakes victory since he
won the Maryland Million 2 1/2 years ago.

Shamrock Isle captured his first graded
stakes race when he won the Grade III Atlanta Cup.

Mrs. S.K. Johnston Jr.'s Snowball Flannagan ran well
making his first start in a graded race. The reformed claimer won
four times from eight starts last year, with three of those victories
coming in claiming races. The 8-year-old son of Triple Crown winner
Affirmed (by Exclusive Native) won the Regions Bank Imperial Cup
at Aiken in his only other start this year. Snowball Fannagan is
trained by Janet Elliot and was ridden by Robert Massey.
Fox Ridge Farm's Anofferucantrefuse was making his seasonal debut
in the Atlanta Cup. The 6-year-old son of Red Ransom (by Roberto)
won the Grade I Joe Aitcheson Novice in his first start of 2002,
and the finished second in the Grade I Meadow Brook. He lead for
about two miles in the Atlanta Cup today and may have needed the
race. He is trained by three-time leading steeplechase trainer Tom
Voss and was ridden by Cyril Murphy.

Mrs. S.K. Johnston Jr.'s Najjm won the novice stakes at Atlanta
last year, his only victory fron six starts lastseason. The 6-year-old
son of Dynaformer (by Roberto) is trained by F. Bruce Miller and
was ridden by Tom Foley.
